The Little Library

Imagine finding your next favourite book on your morning walk.

Or while waiting for a coffee. Or during your lunch break. Or outside your child's school.

Books have a way of brightening ordinary moments, and think they should be part of the places we already spend our time.

That's why we build The Little Library.

They're small community book-sharing libraries that can live almost anywhere people gather. Outside cafés, in office courtyards, at schools, apartment buildings, community centres, churches, parks... wherever there's a little space and a community that loves stories.

Open the door. Borrow a book. Leave one behind if you can. Help keep the shelves alive for the next reader.

Simple.

Why Little Libraries?

Pocket Libraries has always been about making books more accessible. Sometimes that means opening a library. Sometimes it means putting a handful of books exactly where someone wasn't expecting to find them.

A Little Library doesn't replace normal libraries. It complements them. It sparks curiosity, encourages sharing, and reminds us that reading doesn't have to happen inside four walls.

One little box of books can become something surprisingly special.

Could your space use one?

If you've been thinking... "This would work perfectly here." ...it probably would.

Whether you're creating a welcoming corner for your neighbours, encouraging reading at a school, adding something special to a community space, or simply bringing people together, we'd love to hear your idea.

Tell us a little about your space and we'll get back to you with pricing, timelines, and answer any questions you have.

No pressure.

Just the beginning of a conversation.

Handmade, one at a time.

Every Little Library is built by hand.

They're not mass-produced, and they're not all exactly the same. Each one is made individually, with care, and can be customised with colours and branding to suit the space it'll call home.

Because we build them ourselves, we only take on one or two each quarter. We'd rather spend the time getting each one right than rush through a production line.
